Celt Men Shine in Pivotal Game

The University of St. Thomas Men's Basketball team returned to Jerabeck for a conference match-up against rival Jarvis Christian College. The first five minutes belonged to the JCC Bulldogs, but UST would battle back to take the lead 41-38 at the half. UST defensive pressure and ability to force turnovers proved to be the difference in the second session. 

The Celts would go on to win 89-73 and were led by Freshman guard Kennard Robinson (FR/Houston, Texas) with 23 points including 3 of 3 from long distance. Junior Bryon Makel (JR/The Woodlands, Texas) brought an aggressive scoring mentality and consistently knocked down shots for 19 points 25 minutes of play.

Coach Anthony Medina believes this game is a sign of good things to come, "We rose to the occasion and were able to get the stops we needed them" that second year Head Coach said, "This team has grown at a solid rate through the course of this season and we need to continue to raise the bar to get to where we want to be". The win puts the UST Men in a position to earn their way to the conference tournament in Alexandria, LA. 

UST Men's Basketball returns to Jerabeck Saturday, February 25th the close out the season against Wiley College. Senior night will be celebrated by the Women on UST. The Celt Men do not have senior on the roster
