Weatherford, TX - Vasha Moore, a 5-foot-9 small forward from Weatherford High School signs with the Celts women's basketball program for the 2017 class.
The University of St. Thomas adds Vasha Moore to their roster. Moore started at Weatherford High school on the varsity team the last three years. This year she averaged 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Kangaroos, which were good enough numbers to make the All District First Team for the first time in her career. Last year she was named to the All District Academic First Team and was a Honorable Mention.
"I chose UST because I fell in love with the campus, the team and the peace around it," Moore said. "The team and Coach Cross were so welcoming from the start it felt like home and a family I wanted to be involved with."
Moore will step into the Celts as a forward and will be a great addition inside. She has the ability to create space, rebound and finish around the basket. With the Celts graduating seven seniors and losing four forwards, Moore will fill one of those positions. Vasha also looked at Bethel College, Bethany College and Central Christian.
"I watched Vasha last summer while out recruiting and loved the passion she showed for the game. Her tenacity and aggressiveness around the basket will assist our returners and our inside game." Coach Cross said. "Vasha has the same passion for life. We are extremely lucky to have Vasha join our family and be a part of the University of St. Thomas."
