South Padre Island, Texas - Freshman Nicki Oesch shot 74 in the second round of the University of Texas Brownsville's Ocelot Invitational matching her first round 74 and propelling her to a 2nd place finish in the 38 player field. Texas-Freshman Lady Celt Nicki Oesch has continued her great start to her freshman year shooting a 74 in round one of the UTB Invitational at South Padre Island Golf Course. The two over par score was good enough to put her in a tie for third and within striking distance of the lead going into the final round.
The University of Houston Victoria came from two strokes back of round one leaders Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas A&M International to capture the team title at this year's 2013 Talamonti Invitational at Sienna Plantation. Today they shot 322 and edged out a one shot victory over Kingsville and cleared International by five shots.
The first round of The Talamonti Invitational at Sienna Plantation is in the books and there is a tie at the top of the leaderboard. Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas A&M International will battle it out tomorrow after each team shot 331 today. However, the University of Houston-Victoria Lady Jaguars may have something to say about it as they only trail by two shots after posting 333 in round one.
